Were looking for an experienced and motivated PermanentChef de Partie to join the team at The Coach in Ringwood. If youre passionate about creating quality food enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen and take pride in every dish you serve wed love to hear from you.

Join a busy and dynamic kitchen where no two days are the same. As a Chef de Partie youll be responsible for running your section delivering consistently high-quality meals maintaining food safety standards and supporting the wider kitchen team. Working alongside experienced chefs youll play an important role in creating great dining experiences while continuing to develop your culinary skills.

The Coach is our newly renovated dining and entertainment complex located in the heart of Ringwood. From the moment you walk into the venue the warmth and friendliness makes you already feel at home.

A modern new Bistro specialising in a family friendly environment offering an extensive a la carte menu whilst delivering quality customer service catering to all. Not to mention the relocation of the Sports Bar with a dedicated menu and a newly developed alfresco area. Making it the perfect place to watch the game or simply enjoy a beverage relax and unwind.

About Us

Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG) is the hospitality arm of the Melbourne Racing Club managing a growing network of 17 pubs clubs and hospitality venues across Victoria. Our venues include bistros sports bars function spaces and gaming areas each focused on delivering great hospitality experiences within their local communities.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Preparing cooking and presenting high-quality dishes in line with menu specifications.
  • Taking ownership of your allocated section and ensuring smooth service during busy periods.
  • Working closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to deliver a consistent high-quality dining experience.
  • Assisting with stock rotation food storage and receiving deliveries.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of food safety cleanliness and kitchen presentation.
  • Ensuring dietary requirements and special requests are prepared accurately.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior kitchen team members where required.
  • Helping to minimise waste and maintain an organised efficient kitchen.

What Were Looking For

  • Strong cooking skills and confidence across a variety of cooking techniques.
  • A genuine passion for producing quality food and delivering consistent results.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety hygiene and kitchen compliance requirements.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Essential Requirements

  • At least 2 years experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
  • Current Food Safely and Food Allergens Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience in a high-volume kitchen or bistro environment will be highly regarded.

A Role That Keeps You Moving

This is a fast-paced hands-on kitchen role. It may involve standing for long periods moving stock lifting boxes and kitchen supplies and working in a busy commercial kitchen where teamwork and adaptability are essential.
