We are seeking compassionate and experienced Chaplains to join our team in Perth with either 2 x part time positions with one supporting the North Metro region and one supporting the South Metro region or full time covering the whole of Perth Metro.
You will visit clients in their homes providing pastoral and spiritual care that enhances wellbeing fosters meaningful connection and supports individuals and families through lifes joys and challenges. You will work alongside care teams and community partners to ensure holistic person-centred support for every client.
About the Role
In this community based role you will:
Provide pastoral and spiritual care to Home Care clients and their families.
Support people from diverse faiths cultures and lived experiences.
Assess spiritual wellbeing needs and coordinate appropriate support.
Facilitate meaningful conversations rituals services and ceremonies as appropriate.
Build relationships with churches faith communities and local support networks.
Partner with care teams to ensure spiritual wellbeing is integrated into holistic care planning.

About You:
You are a compassionate listener who values dignity respect and person-centred care. You enjoy working independently while building trusted relationships across diverse communities.
The successful applicant will have:
Tertiary qualifications in chaplaincy /pastoral care OR tertiary theological qualifications with a willingness to undertake chaplaincy / pastoral care specific training within the first 12 months of employment.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of Christian spiritual maturity with a pastoral heart
Active involvement in and recommendation from a local Christian Church
Chaplaincy or pastoral care experience
Current Working with Children Check
Experience working in collaborative multi-disciplinary settings
Willingness to undergo a police check

Ability to recognise the spiritual and pastoral needs of clients and to design deliver and evaluate person centred spiritual care initiatives in accordance with professional codes and standards of conduct.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Ability to facilitate safe and welcoming spaces which provide a sense of community and belonging
Treat all clients with equity respect and dignity
Provide spiritual and pastoral care in ways that respect and value diversity e.g. age race faith culture disability gender spirituality and sexuality
Ability to work within BaptistCares Purpose and Values and willingness to promote its Christian identity
Ability to work within BaptistCares Policies and Procedures
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
A demonstrated commitment to self-nurture and self-care
A demonstrated commitment to maintain professional boundaries and professional spiritual development
Desirable Experience:
Understanding of the spiritual and pastoral needs of those living with dementia loss grief and bereavement long term illness relationship disharmony mental health disability loneliness or receiving palliative care
Visiting customers in homes and hospitals as appropriate
