What youll do

Reporting to the Category Portfolio Manager you will manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle across strategic categories from sourcing strategy through to contract execution and performance management.

Youll work across diverse stakeholder groups and play a key role in influencing operational alignment with Thiess preferred suppliers and commercial strategies.

What youll be doing

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned to global operational needs
  • Analyse data to identify cost-saving opportunities and drive commercial efficiencies
  • Build and present business cases to support procurement and sourcing decisions
  • Lead end-to-end tender processes including scope development supplier engagement and evaluation
  • Evaluate supplier submissions across commercial technical and risk criteria to inform decision-making
  • Lead commercial negotiations to maximise value while managing risk and compliance requirements
  • Manage contract execution including approvals onboarding and stakeholder communication
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage contracts to drive value mitigate risk and ensure delivery
  • Developing and owning relationships

What Youll Need to Succeed

You are a commercially astute procurement professional who thrives in a complex stakeholder-heavy environment.

Were looking for:

  • Experience in procurement sourcing or contract management (mining construction or heavy industry preferred)
  • Strong negotiation and influencing capability at multiple organisational levels
  • Proven ability to manage tenders and supplier relationships end-to-end
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable commercial outcomes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Engineering Law or similar (preferred)
