About the opportunity

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to be part of a thriving arts community while earning extra income doing something youre passionate about Join our team as an Usher at the Cardinia Cultural Centre and play a key role in delivering exceptional customer experiences at our state-of-the-art venue.

As part of our event operations team youll help prepare the venue for performances and events welcome patrons and contribute to creating a safe enjoyable and memorable experience for all visitors. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant and dynamic environment supporting a diverse range of arts cultural and community events.

You will make an impact by

  • Welcome patrons by checking tickets then assisting them to their allocated seats.
  • Provide safe guidance for patrons throughout the venues and within theatre including using aisle lighting during performances.
  • Adjust auditorium seating configurations including removing chairs to accommodate wheelchair access whenrequired.
  • Maintain a clean welcoming auditorium by undertaking cleaning duties during intervals and following performances.
  • Prepare and set up function spaces to create a professional and inviting experience for guests.

What you will bring

  • Understanding and experience of safe manual handling procedures.
  • Previous experience in Front of House event operations function set-up or a similar customer-focused role is desirable.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally and positively with patrons performers hirers and colleagues.
  • A reliable and punctual work ethic with a strong commitment to attendance and meeting rostered shift requirements.
  • Proven ability to complete work tasks accurately and within specifiedtimeframes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the successful delivery of events and performances.
  • Flexibility to work a broad range of hours including early mornings evenings and weekends with shiftsoperating between 6.00am and 11.00pm.
  • Ability to set up and prepare theatre function and event spaces to required specifications and deadlines.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach with the willingness to take direction and support changing operational requirements.
  • A commitment to providing a safe welcoming and enjoyable experience for all patrons and visitors.
