The Role

Join our dedicated team at Coast Shelter as a Case Worker in our Youth Program where you will provide trauma informed strengths-base case management to young people aged 16-25. The role delivers planned support advocacy and coordination to assist vulnerable youth in achieving safety stability and progress toward independence.

Key duties include:

  • Complete intake risk assessments and safety planning
  • Deliver client centred case management developing implementing and reviewing case plans in partnership with clients
  • Support clients to access relevant services including mental health OD education Centrelink legal and medical supports
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting as required

All About You

You are a compassionate professional with experience in youth work or social services. You bring valuable knowledge and understanding of the unique challenges faced by young people. Your strong communication skills and ability to build trust and rapport are essential in this role. You are passionate about supporting young people and are dedicated to making a positive impact ontheir lives and futures.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Minimum Certificate IV or equivalent and demonstrated experience in case management within homelessness youth work or community services preferably with 12 years experience in a Case Worker role
  • Experience supporting clients with housing applications advocacy and engagement with Homes NSW and other relevant services
  • Strong understanding of issues facing young people including trauma substance use and family violence
  • Proven ability to maintain boundaries and respond to challenging behaviours
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously manage competing priorities and proactively follow up case management tasks and referrals
  • Strong administrative and computer skills including experience maintaining electronic case notes documentation and client management systems
