Cadet Drafter Civil

Title:

Are you looking to kickstart your career in engineering design and drafting We are seeking a Cadet Drafter to join our growing Transport team. This is an exciting entry level opportunity where you will gain hands on experience across Rail Roads and Civil infrastructure projects while learning from experienced engineers and designers.

As a Cadet Drafter you will work under direct supervision to support the development of drawings and basic 3D models using industry-standard CAD software. You will contribute to real projects while building a strong foundation in engineering drafting standards workflows and systems.

• Produce basic drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD Revit Civil 3D MicroStation Tekla)
• Set up drawing files in accordance with company standards and procedures
• Extract and apply information from engineering specifications standards and supplier documentation
• Maintain electronic filing and document control for your work
• Support engineers and senior designers with technical drafting tasks
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams to understand engineering workflows
• Ensure work is completed in line with quality safety and environmental standards

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Certificate IV or Diploma in Building Design Engineering Design & Drafting or similar (or currently studying)
• Introductory experience with at least one CAD software package (e.g. AutoCAD Revit Civil 3D)
• Strong interest in engineering and the practical application of technology
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Eagerness to learn take initiative and develop new skills

• Good attention to detail and willingness to follow established drafting standards
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
• A proactive mindset with a commitment to quality and safety (QHSE)
• Curiosity and a problem-solving approach
