About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for an analytical and solutions-focused Business Intelligence Officer to join the Finance Systems & Business Intelligence team within the NSW Department of Education.

In this role youll lead the development and delivery of business intelligence solutions that support Finance Directorate priorities and informed decision-making across the department. Youll collaborate with Finance teams ITD and key stakeholders to design interactive dashboards reports and data visualisations that transform complex financial information into meaningful insights.

Working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment youll help strengthen data governance improve reporting capability and identify opportunities to enhance business processes ensuring high-quality reliable and accessible financial information is available to support strategic outcomes.

About you

You are passionate about improving educational and wellbeing outcomes for all learners in NSW Public Education. You are confident in your ability to utilise business intelligence solutions to improve reporting and governance generating insights that further drive data-informed decision-making.

You will also bring:

  • Demonstrated experience developing business intelligence solutions dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear actionable insights.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Knowledge of data governance reporting standards and best practice business intelligence principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a broad audience.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge skills and experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
