Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Managerto support the continued growth of our East Coast business unit. This role sits at the intersection of client engagement market strategy and work-winning with a strong focus on developing opportunities and leading high-quality proposal submissions.
You are a commercially astute professional with a strong understanding of engineering consulting environments and a genuine interest in building client relationships and securing work across the mining and resources sectors.
Working closely with operational leaders and technical specialists you will play a critical role in positioning Wave within key markets strengthening client relationships and converting capability into secured work.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify pursue and support new business opportunities across target markets
- Coordinate and prepare high-quality tender submissions proposals RFQs and EOIs
- Work collaboratively with technical teams and project leaders to develop competitive and commercially sound submissions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients partners and key industry stakeholders
- Monitor market trends competitor activity and emerging opportunities
- Support pricing and commercial discussions to align with client expectations and business objectives
- Represent Wave at client meetings networking events and industry functions
- Contribute to strategic growth initiatives across the business
Experience Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in business development proposals and client engagement within engineering consulting (mining and resources) or adjacent industries
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to develop persuasive and professional submissions
- Excellent coordination and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- A collaborative approach and the confidence to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- The ability to influence and collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Advanced understanding of commercial drivers risk and project positioning
