We currently have an opportunity for a Business Development Directorto join our Government Services and Integrated Facilities Managementteam playing a leading role in driving sustainable longterm growth across a vast array of government and private sector clients.
This role is ideal for a senior leader who thrives on market engagement building and nurturing customer and industry relationships and creating and shaping complex opportunities through early solution development and innovative contracting models. You will play a leading role in identifying and securing profitable strategically aligned work by engaging upstream with customers understanding market drivers and positioning the business for success ahead of procurement and tender activities.
What Youll Do
This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:
Building and maintaining a strong pipeline of strategic business development opportunities; proactively shaping the market to drive new opportunities for Downer.
- Leading early market engagement customer positioning and solution shaping ahead of procurement and tender activity.
- Developing win strategies and leading complex opportunity pursuits collaborating closely with estimating commercial legal and operational teams.
- Establishing trusted seniorlevel relationships with government and private sector customers partners and industry stakeholders.
- Positioning Downer as a thought leader and trusted advisor to secure profitable strategically aligned work.
What Youll Bring
- Extensive experience in senior business development and work winning roles within governmentfacing or other relevant services environments.
- A proven track record of identifying shaping and securing highvalue complex opportunities.
- Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of contracting models and governance frameworks.
- Confident inclusive communication and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse crossfunctional teams.
Location
Sydney or Melbourne preferred and we welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates across Australia.
