MineStar supports asset tracking fleet management operational visibility safety systems equipment health and automation capabilities across surface and underground environments.
The Opportunity
We are seeking two experienced Business Analyst to join the Cat MineStar team in Brisbane. This role is office-based supporting a co-located product development team to deliver high-quality user-centric software solutions for global mining customers.
You will work closely with Product Owners engineers UX designers and stakeholders to translate business needs into clear actionable product requirements ensuring alignment between customer value product strategy and delivery outcomes.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is passionate about understanding complex systems improving workflows and enabling high-performing product teams.
Key Responsibilities
Elicit analyse and document business requirements user needs and system behaviours
Translate requirements into user stories acceptance criteria and functional specifications
Partner closely with Product Owners and engineering teams to refine and prioritise the product backlog
Facilitate workshops stakeholder discussions and discovery sessions
Support end-to-end product delivery from concept through to release
Ensure alignment between business objectives customer needs and technical solutions
Assist with process mapping data analysis and workflow optimisation
Collaborate with UX designers to ensure user-centric design outcomes
Support validation activities including user acceptance testing (UAT) and solution verification
Identify gaps risks and dependencies and proactively drive resolution
Contribute to continuous improvement of product practices documentation and delivery processes
What Were Looking For
Essential
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a software or technology delivery environment
Strong skills in requirements gathering analysis and documentation
Experience working with Agile product teams and translating business needs into backlog items
Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across technical and non-technical audiences
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
Excellent communication facilitation and collaboration skills
Experience working on complex software systems or platforms
Willingness to work onsite in Brisbane as part of a collocated team
Desirable
Experience with user-facing or UX-driven products
Exposure to geospatial mining or industrial technology domains
Familiarity with data analysis tools or techniques
Understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum SAFe or similar)
Experience supporting distributed or globally deployed products
