About the opportunity Join a dedicated team responsible formaintainingand improving vital bridge infrastructure that keeps our community connected and safe. As a Bridge Maintenance Officer you will play a hands-on role in inspectingrepairingand enhancing bridges and culverts helping to extend asset life and ensure a safe travelling environment for all road users. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and safety-focused professional who enjoys a diverse role combining technicalexpertise practicalproblem-solvingand meaningful community impact.

You will make an impact by

  • Conducting Level 1 inspections of bridges and culverts toidentifymaintenance requirements.
  • Planning and prioritising maintenance activities to ensure infrastructureremainssafefunctionaland reliable.
  • Undertaking bridge maintenance and repair works including steel fabricationcarpentryand concrete construction.
  • Operating andmaintaininga range of plant equipment and tools used in bridge maintenance activities.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by supporting best-practice maintenance techniques and asset lifecycle outcomes.

What you will bring

  • Trade qualifications orsignificant experiencein commercial carpentry steel fabrication concreteworksor a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in bridge maintenance and repair including the use of associated materialstoolsand equipment.
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card) and a current Victorian Driver Licence with a minimum Medium Rigid (MR) endorsement.
  • Sound knowledge of bridge maintenance practices inspectionprocessesand asset preservation techniques.
  • Strong commitment to Occupational Health and Safety and safe work practices.
  • Ability to work autonomously manage competing priorities and contribute effectively within a team environment.
  • Well-developed communication skills and a professional community-focused approach to service delivery.
  • Desirable qualifications include Certificate III in Bridge and Marine Construction Level 1 Bridge Inspection qualification Worksite Traffic Management EWP certification Mobile Crane Truck Licence and Level 2 First Aid.
