About the Position

Boarding House Staff are an integral part of the St Hildas School team which cares for the development employee must have a genuine desire to work with adolescent girls who are living in an environment away from their Boarding House staff have a warm approachabledemeanourthat makes people feel welcome. Empathy and patience come naturally to our staff as well astact confidentiality and diplomacy when handling sensitive situations.

It isessentialthe successful applicant has a genuine desire to work with adolescent girls who are living in an environment away from their homes and an ability to relate to adolescent girls.

Boarding House Supervisors

Various shifts available before and afterschoolas well as sleepover shifts(10.00pm 6.30am).

Key Responsibilities

  • Pastoral care and wellbeing Providing day-to-day emotional social and welfare support to boarders andidentifyingand responding to concerns

  • Safety and duty of care Supervising students conducting roll calls and checks managing medication and medical responses and ensuring compliance with child safety and mandatory reporting obligations

  • Routine and behaviour management Overseeing daily schedules (meals study curfews) and enforcing house rules tomaintaina positiveenjoyableandorderly living environment

  • Communication and administration Liaising withHeads of Boarding andmaintainingaccuraterecordsregardingattendance welfare and leave.

Boarding Tutors

Mondays through Thursdays 5pm 8pm (Yearlevels5-12)

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience with tutoring Mathematics and Science subjects is an advantage but all subjects will be considered

  • Provideacademic support and supervised studyassistanceto boarding students

  • Assistgirls to develop effective study habitsorganisationand time management skills

  • Support the smooth operation of the Boarding House through the implementation of routines and procedures.

  • A calm dependable andapproachablemannerand a genuine enthusiasm for helping students build confidence and achieve academic success

  • Previousexperience in education tutoringboardingor youth support environments will be highly regarded

  • A collaborative spirit and willingness to contribute to the broader life of the boarding house including outingsactivitiesand day-to-day supervision

  • A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement

  • Flexibility to work a rostered overnight andearly morning andeveningduring school termtime.
