Contribute to shaping a resilient future for the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region.
Reef Catchments Limited (RCL) is seeking two experienced values-driven Directors to join its Board: an Agriculture Sector Representative and a Traditional Owner Sector Representative.
Appointment to the RCL Board also includes appointment as a Director of RCLs wholly owned subsidiary CS Environmental subject to no conflict of interest that would prevent the appointment.
RCL has an independent skills-based Board with designated sector representative positions.
Directors provide strategic insight sound governance and constructive input in overseeing Reef Catchments and its wholly owned subsidiary CS Environmental. Each Director brings an informed sector perspective while acting in the best interests of RCL as a whole.

What youll do
- Contribute to the strategic direction governance and oversight of RCL and its wholly owned subsidiary including organisational performance financial sustainability riskcompliance and safety.
- Prepare for and actively participate in Board meetings strategic planning sessions engagement and networking opportunities and other Board activities.
- Serve on at least one Board subcommittee with allocation determined by the Board:
- Finance Audit and Risk Management Committee (FARM) meets every two months.
- Governance Remuneration and Nominations Committee (GRNC) meets three to four times each year.
- Work collaboratively with the Chair fellow Directors and CEO bringing independent judgement and constructive input to Board deliberations.
- Strengthen relationships with sector stakeholders Traditional Owners government industry and the broader community.
- Champion sustainable natural resource management (NRM) outcomes funding opportunities and the long-term resilience and prosperity of the region.
About You
You are collaborative values-driven and committed to making a positive contribution tothe Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region. You will bring:
- Board committee council advisory group or senior leadership experience relevant to the responsibilities of a Company Director.
- Sound governance capability including the ability to contribute to strategy risk performance financial oversight and organisational accountability.
- Integrity independence and sound judgement with an understanding that Directors must actin the best interests of RCL as a whole.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to listen respectfully challenge and contribute constructively at Board level.
- The capacity to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Commitment to RCLs purpose values and environmental and community outcomes.
- Hold a Director ID or receive approval for a Director ID.
- Formal governance training such as the Australian Institute of Company DirectorsCompany Directors Course is highly regarded.
Role-specific experience
Agriculture Sector Representative
You will bring a respected and informed agricultural perspective to the Board supported by:
- Significant experience in agriculture agribusiness or a related land-based industryideally within the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region.
- A strong understanding of landholder and industry priorities including productive and sustainable land management NRM climate resilience biosecurity water and soil stewardship.
- Established agricultural networks and the ability to engage credibly with producers industry groups government and regional communities.
- The ability to connect practical sector knowledge with strategic governance and long-termregional outcomes.
Traditional Owner Sector Representative
You will bring Traditional Owner knowledge perspectives and relationships to the Boardsupported by:
- Knowledge of cultural governance Caring for Country Indigenous land and sea management and the priorities and aspirations of Traditional Owner communities.
- Strong relationships and the ability to engage respectfully and effectively withTraditional Owner groups community government and industry.
- The ability to bring Traditional Owner perspectives into strategic decision-making andsupport culturally respectful partnerships engagement and co-design.
- Relevant governance or leadership experience may have been gained through boardsPrescribed Body Corporate councils committees advisory groups community organisations or senior community leadership roles.

Time commitment and travel
The role requires a flexible and meaningful time investment across both the RCL and CS Environmental Boards averaging approximately 2025 days per year. This includes:
- Attendance at approximately six RCL Board meetings annually delivered through a mix ofin-person and online attendance.
- Attendance at approximately five to six CS Environmental Board meetings annually.
- Attendance at an annual strategic planning day (in person).
- Participation in at least one of the Board subcommittees (approximately 34 days per year). Each Director is required to serve on at least one of the Boards two subcommittees.
- Occasional stakeholder engagement and regional travel (approximately 2 days per year).
Travel across the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region may be required.
