Ability Action Australia is growing and were looking for our next Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our incredible team.

Whether youre an experienced BSP or come from a strong background in the disability sector we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting NDIS participants along with their families and/or carers to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
  • Evaluating developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
  • Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices in the home and community
  • Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants goals passions and strengths as well as ensuring they get more out of life
  • Building the knowledge capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family carers friends etc
  • Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications :

To be considered suitable you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience working with disabilities and challenging behaviours
  • Disability &/or Mental Health support work experience essential.
  • Degree level qualifications of relevance to providing support to people with behaviours of concern are highly preferred
  • Commitment to person-centred practice and reducing restrictive interventions
  • Strong report writing skills and the ability to translate assessment findings into clear actionable plans
