The role
Join the Environment and Sustainability team and help deliver projects that protect and enhance the natural environment across Greater Sydney this role youll coordinate and support a diverse range of biodiversity bushland management sustainability and conservation initiatives working with internal teams contractors government agencies and community partners to achieve positive environmental outcomes.

During this short-term backfill youll play a key role in coordinating feral animal control programs bushland management contracts weed management activities wildlife habitat improvement projects and fauna management initiatives across multiple parkland sites. Youll balance competing priorities manage stakeholders support procurement and budget activities and provide practical environmental advice to help deliver important conservation outcomes.

What you will bring to the role

  • Demonstrated experience in environmental management biodiversity conservation bushland management natural resource management or a related field.
  • Strong project coordination and administration skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities maintain project documentation and support project delivery from planning through to completion.
  • Experience coordinating environmental programs such as feral animal control weed management fauna conservation habitat enhancement or bushland restoration projects.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with contractors government agencies community groups volunteers and wildlife organisations.
  • Ability to research analyse information and provide practical recommendations to support decision-making and problem solving.
  • Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to plan prioritise and coordinate activities while working to tight deadlines and managing competing priorities.
  • Experience supporting procurement contractor management budget monitoring and financial administration.
  • Strong written communication skills including preparing reports briefs procedures statements of work and project documentation.
  • A proactive and accountable approach with the ability to identify issues improve processes and contribute to successful project outcomes.
  • Confidence using technology databases and systems to maintain records monitor projects and support reporting requirements.


Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental based Science or Engineering
  • Current Australian drivers license and ability to travel to and attend work at any site within the GSP portfolio
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends if required
