Assistant Manager

Were looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join the team at Highways in Springvale.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hospitality leader who enjoys being hands-on thrives in fast-paced venues and is passionate about delivering great customer experiences while supporting and developing a high-performing team.

Working closely with the Venue Manager youll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the venue supporting team leadership compliance gaming operations customer service and overall venue performance.

About the Venue

Highways is located in the hub of suburban south-east Melbourne on the perimeter of Sportsbet Sandown Racecourse. Featuring a family friendly bistro with a designated kids play area great service and a relaxed atmosphere making it the perfect dining experiences for all to enjoy. Along with an extensive modern menu with daily specials Highways caters to both children and adults alike.

Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG) is the hospitality arm of the Melbourne Racing Club managing a growing network of 17 pubs clubs and hospitality venues across Victoria. Our venues include bistros sports bars function spaces and gaming areas each focused on delivering great hospitality experiences within their local communities.

What Youll Be Doing

• Supporting the day-to-day operations of the venue
• Assisting in driving venue performance and achieving financial targets
• Leading coaching and supporting team members across the venue
• Managing stock control and ordering processes
• Supporting rostering recruitment onboarding and training
• Ensuring high standards of customer service and venue presentation
• Assisting with promotions events and gaming operations
• Maintaining strong compliance across gaming liquor TAB and venue operations
• Supporting a positive and engaging team culture

What Were Looking For

• Previous experience in a hospitality leadership or management role
• Strong understanding of venue operations and customer service
• A positive hands-on and team-focused leadership style
• Ability to work well in fast-paced environments
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Knowledge of gaming and compliance requirements is highly regarded
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including nights weekends and public holidays

Essential Requirements

• Current Victorian RSA
• Current Victorian RSG
• Current Victorian Gaming Employee Licence
• Do Food Safely Certificate
• Full Australian working rights

A Role That Keeps You Moving
