About the role:
As the Assistant Manager Accounts Receivable you will lead a small team to drive continuous improvement across the Universitys accounts receivable operations to ensure accurate compliant and customer-focused financial services. As part of the role you will build and maintain collaborative relationships with both internal stakeholders including Finance Faculties and the Student Services Division and external partners such as auditors and collection agencies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead end-to-end accounts receivable activities including debt recovery strategies bad debt management monthly reconciliations and reporting.
- Manage and support the daily operations of the Accounts Receivable team to deliver accurate and timely financial processing.
- Drive process improvements and best practices to enhance service delivery.
- Develop and maintain operational procedures training resources and controls to support consistent and compliant processes.
- Provide high-level support and advice in complex and escalated matters ensuring a solution-focused and policy-compliant approach.
To be successful youll have:
- A Degree with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or Extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated experience working to meet tight deadlines well organised ability to multi-task achieve targets and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger debt collection and basic accounting principles
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to manage complex stakeholder and customer issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the University.
