About the Opportunity

Synergie is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Assistant Business Controller in Smithfieldto join our client who specialises in Industrial Service and Equipment (ISE) business.

This role will support the Business Controller in providing high-quality financial analysis reporting and commercial insights to support effective business decision-making. You will play an important role across financial reporting forecasting business planning internal controls and performance analysis.

About the Role

Working closely with the Business Controller Financial Controller and broader finance team you will be responsible for supporting the financial management and performance of the ISE business.

- Temp to perm Assistant Business Controller ASAP for 6 months

- Monday to Friday - 38 hour per when it comes to month-end.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting monthly and quarterly financial reporting forecasting and annual planning.
  • Preparing and analysing P&L and Balance Sheet results and reconciliations.
  • Providing financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making.
  • Developing and maintaining financial reporting tools KPI reports and dashboards.
  • Supporting cost structure cash flow asset and profitability analysis.
  • Assisting with customer and project profitability analysis.
  • Supporting credit control customer credit limits and accounts receivable follow-up.
  • Maintaining and implementing effective internal controls and finance best practices.
  • Supporting internal and external audit activities.
  • Assisting with statutory reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting risk management and internal control processes.
  • Working with Sales Project Management Branch Managers and Service Managers on financial matters.
  • Providing financial support to frontline business operations.
  • Contributing to special projects and other ad-hoc finance initiatives.
About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar finance business controlling or financial management role.
  • Experience with financial analysis reporting and business controlling.
  • Strong understanding of project financials and project financial follow-up.
  • Experience working with SAP FICO or similar ERP/finance systems.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working across Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • A proactive and commercially focused approach to financial analysis.
