Immediate Start Flexible Working Hours Contract Until 18 Dec 26

Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Officer Assistant Accountant or Accountant to join their finance team on a contract basis. This newly created role has arisen due to a recent acquisition and presents an excellent opportunity to contribute to finance transformation initiatives process improvements and business integration activities.

Based in Perths southern suburbs you will play a key role in month-end reporting reconciliations inventory analysis and the documentation of finance processes while supporting the wider finance team through a period of growth and change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with month-end close activities and financial reporting
  • Perform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
  • Support inventory reconciliations and stocktake processes
  • Analyse and manipulate large datasets using Excel
  • Map and document existing finance processes and workflows
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through process enhancement and automation
  • Assist with finance integration activities arising from a recent acquisition
  • Provide general accounting and finance support to the broader team
About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Finance Officer Assistant Accountant or Accountant
  • Strong month-end accounting and reconciliation experience
  • Experience with inventory accounting stocktakes or stock reconciliations
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work confidently with large volumes of data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication stakeholder engagement and documentation skills
  • The ability to quickly understand evaluate and improve existing processes
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience using MYOB (preferred but not essential)
  • Exposure to process mapping finance transformation or system improvement projects
  • Relevant accounting qualifications or currently working towards CA or CPA accreditation
