We are seeking a full time Asset Maintenance Officer to join our Eight Mile Plains office.

The Role

The Asset Maintenance Officer will play a pivotal role in assessing our properties ensuring that they are safe well maintained and compliant with all relevant regulations and requirements.

Concentrating on void management responsive and planned maintenance you will be responsible for a portfolio of properties.

Working within set timeframes and budgets will be an important aspect of this role and you will need to ensure that all works completed comply with quality assurance standards.

You will be liaising regularly with internal and external stakeholders building and sustaining positive relationships with contractors and responding to their needs in a timely manner. From time to time you will liaise with vulnerable people who may be marginalised and/or present with difficult behaviour.

Essential Criteria:

• An understanding and appreciation of the importance of responsive and efficient asset management for the community.
• Strong work ethic willingness to learn and a caring and empathetic nature.
• Confidence in liaising with various stakeholdersincluding vulnerable people.
• Demonstrated experience using MS Office programs including Excel.
• Ability to compose professional correspondence via email to internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience or knowledge of property management.
• Sound knowledge and application of WHS practices.
• Green/White WHS Construction Induction Card (or ability to obtain).
• A current drivers licence.

Desirable:

• Previous experience working in the social/community housing industry.
• Certificate IV or above in a relevant trade ideally Building and/or Carpentry.
