About the opportunity

Step into a pivotal role where yourexpertisedirectly shapes how vital infrastructure assets are recognised valued and managed. As an Asset Capitalisation Officer you will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and enabling sustainable lifecycle management across a diverse asset portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of finance engineering and asset management contributing to informed decision-making and long-term community outcomes.

You will make an impact by

• Ensuring infrastructure assets are accurately capitalised recognised and recorded in line with accounting standards and organisational policies
• Analysing project and expenditure data to determineappropriate assetclassification and capitalisation treatment
• Applying componentisation principles to break down assets and assign useful lives foraccuratedepreciation
• Maintaining and enhancing the asset register to ensure reliable up-to-date asset information
• Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to support compliant financial reporting and asset management practices

What you will bring

• Demonstrated experience in asset capitalisation asset accounting or infrastructure asset management
• Microsoft Excel power user with advancedexpertisein data analysis reporting and reconciliation
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and infrastructure data using tools such as GIS applications Adobe Acrobat and AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standardsrelated to the role
• Proven ability to manage asset registers including additions renewals disposals and reconciliations
• Experience working with assetmanagement and financial systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to engage effectively across finance engineering and asset teams
