ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Councils Assets Capital and Facilities unit sits within the City Services directorate and focuses on the beautification of the Cumberland LGA. Cumberland City Council owns five (5) and operates four (4) Aquatic and Leisure Centre facilities across the LGA which provide recreational services to our community.

In contributing to the overarching vision the Aquatic Operations Supervisor is to assist the efficient and effective operation and management of the Aquatic Centres including Aquatic programs at Council by providing patrons and hirers with high-quality customer service and clean safe friendly and well-presented facilities. This is achieved by directing and leading a team of dedicated and committed employees and overseeing the daily operations of the Aquatic facilities such as active lifeguarding supervision of lifeguard services facility and pool plant operations and maintenance cleaning water quality and aquatic program supervision.

The successful applicant will require:

  • Aquatic Technical Operator Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Current Pool Lifeguard Licence
  • Current HLATAID011 Provide First Aid
  • Current HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Current Chemcert AQF3 Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Relevant experience in an Aquatic supervisory role with a commitment to safe pool practices
  • Effective oral/written communication skills
  • Quality customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a team environment.

About this role:

  • Permanent full-time position
  • 70 hour fortnight
  • Access to Councils 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement
  • Located at Councils Wentworthville Swim Centre with frequent travel required across Council worksites and may be required to work across any of Councils work locations

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

  • Grade 8 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1431.67 to $1753.80 per week plus 12% superannuation
  • The commencing salary will be negotiated taking into consideration the successful applicants qualifications skills and experience related to the role

What youll need to have for this role:

  • The right to live and work in Australia
  • Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
  • Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Councils Health Monitoring Procedure as required.
