Duration: Approx. 12 months with potential to extend
Pay rate: $58.22 $62.97 per hour plus 12% super
Citizenship requirements: Must be an Australian citizen at time of application
Overview
This role sits within a federal government regulatory environment responsible for evaluating applications relating to prescription medicines. The team manages submissions for new medicines new indications and variations to existing registrations ensuring applications progress efficiently through the regulatory lifecycle.
The team also reviews Product Information and Consumer Medicine Information supports approval processes participates in trade name reviews and provides clinical and legislative advice across the organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and finalise minor variation applications for prescription medicines with a high level of accuracy within a regulatory framework
- Review Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) for new medicine applications within legislated timeframes
- Assist in the training and support of new team members as required
- Work collaboratively within a team-based allocation model demonstrating flexibility innovation and problem-solving
- Assist in the preparation of Ministerial correspondence briefings and responses to public enquiries
- Contribute to the review and maintenance of procedures policies and standards to support consistent service delivery
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues relating to prescription medicine submissions and regulatory requirements
- Provide legislative and clinical advice within the branch and broader organisation
- Contribute to strategic planning activities and continuous process improvement initiatives
- Undertake administrative tasks to support team operations and delegated functions
- Participate as an active member of trade name review activities
- Perform additional duties as required by leadership
Experience/requirements:
- Current registration as a pharmacist with AHPRA
- Ability to quickly develop in-depth knowledge of legislative regulatory and administrative frameworks
- Strong decision-making skills with sound professional judgement
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Demonstrated initiative adaptability and ability to support the implementation of new systems and processes
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
- Experience in or understanding of therapeutic goods regulation in Australia (desirable)
