Certificate III in Engineering: Fabrication Trade

Are you interested in welding metal fabrication and building high quality marine products Aus Marine Craft is looking for a motivated and reliable apprentice to join its workshop team in Bibra Lake.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised trade qualification in a specialised marine fabrication environment.

About the Business

Aus Marine Craft is a Western Australian marine fabrication and boatbuilding business specialising in custom aluminium boats trailers repairs maintenance and structural fabrication projects. Working alongside experienced tradespeople you will develop practical skills across a range of fabrication and welding tasks.

About the Role

As a Metal Fabricator / Boilermaker Apprentice you will learn all aspects of the fabrication trade while working towards a Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade.

Duties may include:

  • Reading and interpreting drawings and specifications
  • Measuring marking cutting shaping and bending metal materials
  • Assisting with welding and fabrication tasks under supervision
  • Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
  • Bolting riveting and assembling fabricated components
  • Checking completed work for quality and accuracy
  • Cleaning polishing and finishing products
  • Maintaining tools equipment and a safe work environment
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A genuine interest in metal fabrication welding and the marine industry
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to follow instructions and work safely
  • A reliable and punctual approach to work
  • Physical fitness suitable for a workshop environment
Desirable Requirements
  • Drivers licence preferred
  • Pre apprenticeship in a relevant trade advantageous
  • Previous exposure to welding fabrication workshop tools or hands-on work beneficial
  • Ability to travel to Bibra Lake
  • Suitable Australian work and study rights to undertake an apprenticeship
