The Alexis Family Violence Response Model (AFVRM) is a jointly designed initiative between The Salvation Army and Victoria Police providing an integratedrisk informedwholeoffamilyresponse tohigh-riskfamily violence incidents. This role is critical in ensuringtimely coordinated andtrauma-informedinterventions that reduce risk and strengthen safety for victim survivors.
About the role
AsaSeniorSpecialist Family Violence Practitioner (Person Using Violence)you willdeliver intensiveshort-termrisk focusedinterventions to men using violence embedded within the Bayside Family Violence Investigation Unit (FVIU). You will work collaboratively with Victoria Police and specialist family violence services to provide a unifiedwholeoffamilyresponse that prioritises safety accountability and behaviour change.
Reporting to theTeam Leaderthis is afixed-termfull-timeposition contracted for 12 monthslocatedonsiteinFrankston VIC.
Conditions
Compensation isin accordance withtheSocial Community Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) Level6.
How you will make an impact
- Identify assess and prioritise serious family violence risk through a gendered traumainformed lens aligned with MARAM Safe and Equal and TSAs Family Violence Model of Care
- Conduct intake and dynamic risk assessments as the first point of contact ensuring timely defensible decisions that centre the safety of victim survivors and children
- Coreview incidents with Victoria Police FVIU and contribute to coordinated highquality responses within a fastpaced embedded policing environment
- Apply a strong understanding of the gendered drivers of family violence and the structural factors that heighten vulnerability for women and children ensuring practice that upholds dignity equity and safety
- Engage safely and professionally with both victim survivors and people using violence upholding boundaries conflictofinterest requirements and a strong risk focus to prioritise those at greatest risk
- Produce highquality documentation uphold evidenceinformed practice and actively participate in supervision reflective practice and ongoing capability development
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualifications inSocial Work Psychology or equivalent aligned with Mandatory Minimum Qualifications (Rec 209).
- At leastfive years case management experience with family violence experience(highly desirable)
- Strong understanding of thegendered nature of family violence intersectionality childdevelopmentand trauma
- Ability to work effectively withmen using violencemaintainingboundaries riskfocusand accountability
- Experience working inmultidisciplinary integrated service models
- A currentVICEmployee Working with Children Check
- A currentVIC Drivers Licence
- Willingness to undergoVictoria Police Security Checks
