About the Position
We areseeking Agreements Officers and Bargaining Support Officers to jointhe Fair Work Commissions (the Commissions) Tribunal SupportBranch providing direct support for agreement matters andbargaining matters or to Commission Members on workplace relationissues.
As anAgreements Officer you will use your knowledge ofthe federal workplace relations system to undertake research andanalysis of applications for approval termination and/or variationof enterprise agreements to ensure that agreements meet therequirements of the Fair Work Act 2009. You will provideother research and administrative support to the CommissionsMembers and managers and the public including publishingmaterials on the Commissions website and drafting andproofreading briefing notes information materials andcorrespondence.
As anemployee of the Tribunal Support Branch on occasion there may bean expectation that you also perform the functions of a BargainingSupport Officer and vice versa.
As aBargaining Support Officer you will use yourstrong communication and analytical skills and knowledge of theFair Work Act 2009 to liaise with clients and CommissionMembers to provide high-quality administrative and case managementsupport in bargaining with other members ofthe team you will contribute to maintaining or improvingperformance against timeframes imposed by the legislation and theCommissions performance measures and provide support to otherfunctions of the Bargaining Support and Agreements team includingthe Collaborative Approaches Program.
Duties
Duties performed byAgreements Officer
- Work both independently and collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality results in line with both internal and legislative KPIs or deadlines;
- Undertake research and analysis on workplace relations issues including in relation to agreement-related and other matters under the Fair Work Act 2009 and prepare reports and other written material. This may include:
- Analysing applications for approval termination and/or variation of enterprise agreements and supporting documentation to ensure that agreements meet the requirements of the Fair Work legislation and relevant case law;
- Using the Commissions case management system to accurately record activities undertaken;
- Interaction with Members of the Commission to discuss and advise on issues arising from agreement analysis or other research;
- Preparing summaries of submissions;
- Appropriately communicating issues and information to Members internal staff and external parties;
- Produce briefs memos and/or collect agreement-related data for the purposes of internal analysis and/or published reports;
- Provide high level support to other team members within the Branch including contributing to the development of team policies and procedures in line with requests from Members and the Commissions business objectives.

- Consistently follow processes and procedures while using case management systems to maintain compliant records;
- Work both independently and collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality results in line with both internal and legislative KPIs or deadlines;
- Provide specialist professional and technical expertise ensuring Commission Members receive complete timely and accurate case management information prior to allocation;
- Contribute to the development of team policies and procedures in line with requests from Members and the Commissions business objectives;
- Appropriately communicate issues and information to Members internal staff and external parties;
- Provide high level support to other team members within the Branch including contributing to research supporting engagement activities and assisting with project delivery.
