At nib were committed to delivering better health outcomes through smart data-led decisions. As an Actuarial Manager youll play a critical role in shaping strategy influencing performance and providing trusted advice across the business.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Actuarial you will lead key actuarial deliverables and partner with stakeholders to provide commercially focused risk-aware insights that drive decision-making.
This is a high-impact role suited to an experienced actuarial professional who enjoys combining technical depth with business influence.
Key responsibilities
Lead core actuarial processes including reserving capital pricing and forecasting
Deliver high-quality analysis to inform strategic and operational decisions
Develop and maintain robust actuarial models and frameworks
Contribute to regulatory reporting and submissions (APRA premium filings ICAAP)
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members
Maintain strong documentation controls and governance practices
Partner with stakeholders to deliver clear commercially relevant insights
About you
You bring strong technical capability combined with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across the business. You are comfortable working autonomously balancing competing priorities and translating complex analysis into actionable outcomes.
What youll bring
Degree in Actuarial Studies Mathematics Statistics or similar
FIAA (or equivalent)
Strong experience in financial and regulatory reporting
Advanced analytical modelling and programming capability
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Highly regarded:
Private health insurance experience
Exposure to stress testing capital frameworks or ICAAP
Familiarity with APRA standards
