About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organised and commercially focused Accounting & Commercial Manager to lead the companys financial management commercial activities and office administration functions. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role that combines full-cycle accounting responsibilities with commercial management budgeting cost control KPI monitoring and business support for project development activities.
The successful candidate will act as the companys designated accountant taking ownership of financial reporting audit coordination budgeting commercial analysis supplier cost management and corporate administration. Working closely with the General Manager this position will play a critical role in supporting operational performance business growth and project development initiatives.
This role is ideally suited to a finance professional who combines strong accounting expertise with commercial business acumen and is looking to make a meaningful contribution within a growing resources organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Accounting
- Manage the full accounting cycle including accounts payable accounts receivable general ledger reconciliations and month-end reporting
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards
- Act as the designated accountant for the business and ensure compliance with statutory and corporate reporting requirements
- Coordinate and manage external audit processes and respond to audit queries
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Oversee cash flow management forecasting and financial controls
- Ensure compliance with taxation regulatory and corporate governance requirements
- Manage accounting systems and continuously improve financial reporting processes
- Prepare management reports and financial analysis for senior leadership
- Develop monitor and manage annual budgets and forecasts
- Track monitor and report on key business and operational KPIs
- Support commercial decision-making through financial and operational analysis
- Assist the General Manager with project development activities and business planning initiatives
- Prepare and review quotations commercial proposals and business submissions
- Monitor supplier costs and implement cost control initiatives to improve profitability
- Evaluate commercial opportunities contracts and procurement activities
- Support strategic planning and business performance improvement programs
- Manage and oversee day-to-day office administration functions
- Ensure efficient administrative systems processes and record management practices are maintained
- Coordinate corporate documentation reporting schedules and internal compliance requirements
- Support senior management with administrative and business coordination activities
- Maintain organised filing systems and company records
- Drive administrative efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives across the business
- Strong financial management and corporate accounting expertise
- Excellent commercial acumen and business analysis capability
- Advanced budgeting forecasting and cost control skills
- Strong understanding of KPI development and performance management
- High level of organisational and administrative effectiveness
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work autonomously while supporting senior leadership
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance Commerce or related discipline
- CPA CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred
- Minimum 8 years experience in accounting finance or commercial management roles
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle accounting functions
- Proven experience preparing financial statements and managing external audits
- Strong experience in budgeting forecasting and financial planning
- Experience with commercial management supplier cost control and contract administration
- Strong understanding of accounting systems and financial reporting software
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills
- Previous experience within mining resources construction engineering or project-based industries highly regarded
- Ability to work closely with operational and project teams
- CPA Australia or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation
- Experience supporting mining or resource development projects
- Exposure to project development feasibility studies or operational budgeting
- Experience implementing financial controls and process improvement initiatives
- Strong commercial and business partnering experience with senior management teams
