About the role
Reporting to the Senior Accountant the Accountant plays animportant role in supporting the effective delivery of Queensland RugbyLeagues operational finance function.
You will help ensure accurate processing reconciliationsmonth-end support statutory compliance and management reporting across theorganisation. Working closely with the Senior Accountant and Chief FinancialOfficer you will provide high-quality financial information to support budgetowners and the Senior Leadership Team while helping maintain strong financialcontrols and efficient processes.
This is a varied hands-on opportunity for someone whoenjoys managing competing priorities building strong stakeholder relationshipsand identifying ways to improve systems and workflows.
What youll be doing
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of thefinance function ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time
- Prepare reconciliations journals supportingdocumentation and schedules for month-end and reporting requirements
- Contribute to management reporting varianceanalysis budgeting and forecasting activities
- Assist with statutory compliance requirementsincluding BAS IAS FBT and other regulatory obligations
- Support the annual audit by preparing schedulesresponding to information requests and helping implement agreed recommendations
- Partner with budget owners and internalstakeholders to provide financial information answer queries and support sounddecision-making
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting Financeor Commerce with CPA or CA studies underway or recently completed preferred.
- Experience in an Accountant AssistantAccountant or similar finance role ideally within a small to medium-sizedorganisation.
- Strong technical accounting capabilityincluding month-end processes reconciliations and statutory compliance.
- A sharp eye for detail with the ability toprepare accurate journals supporting documentation and schedules.
- Confidence using Excel and accounting systemswith MYOB experience desirable.
- A collaborative down-to-earth approach youcommunicate well build strong relationships and enjoy being part of a team.
- You are proactive reliable and happy to roll upthe sleeves to help where needed.
ROLE SPECS
This is a permanent full-time position. The salary forthis position is $75000 plus superannuation. QRL remunerate based on theposition requirements to ensure pay equity in sport. We offer 4 weeksannual leave and 1 week of refresh leave throughout the season as well ashybrid working arrangements.
