Parramatta McKell or Gosford location - flexible working conditions available across the three locations with a minimum of two days in the office

About the Opportunity

As an Aboriginal P&C Business Partner working alongside other P&C Business Partners you willprovide expert and inclusive advice coaching and mentoring employees and people leaders in addition to Aboriginal employees across the Department. You will support a range of workplace matters including conflict resolutionhealth and wellbeingperformanceand grievancemanagement ensuring all approaches are managed effectively and within agreed timeframes. Additionally when supporting Aboriginal employees ensure approaches are grounded in cultural understanding and aligned with Aboriginal values and practiceswhere Aboriginal people thrive.

This role plays a key part in delivering specialisedpeople incase managementwith afocus oncustomerservicetosupport all employees andpeople are seeking candidates withdemonstratedexperience supporting Aboriginal employees in the workplace with a strong understanding of the diverse issues they mayencounter. This includes cultural sensitivities protocols and the impact these factors can have on workplace engagement and outcomes.

Across DCS our three P&C Portfolios support over 13000 teammates working across multiple agencies to deliver digital innovation customer-centric services and regulatory priorities which ensures more effective and efficient service delivery for the people of NSW. A typical day of work for you might include:

  • Providing informed HR advice coaching and mentoring toemployees and people leaders in addition to supporting Aboriginal employees across our portfolio group on a range of workplace mattersincluding conflict resolution performance concerns and grievanceswhile ensuring issues are managed effectively and within agreedtimeframes.
  • Working in close partnershipwith the P&C specialist teams- includingourProfessional Standards and Conduct and Industrial Relations andSafety& Risk and Occupational Health and Recoveryteams- to supportsafeoutcomesfor Aboriginal and other employees aligned with Aboriginal cultural values and DCS practices.
  • Developing and delivering informative and engaging training sessions to empower leaders.
  • Identifyingcontinuous improvement opportunities enhancing our service delivery to improve customer outcomes by assessing and updating methodsproceduresand processes.
  • Activelyparticipatein projects across the team.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have an understanding ofdiverse workforce issues including Aboriginal people and sensitives aroundAboriginal culture protocols and how these mayimpacttheir outcome in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated experience in HR/ER/WHS case managementand/or conflict resolutionrelating to the Aboriginal Workforce.
  • Strong ethics and values that align to our customer service driven culture.
  • A customer centricand people centricmindset with strong decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent organisational & time management skills.
  • Enthusiasm resilience and energy to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment
