Reports to: Library Services & Programs CoordinatorInspire Young Minds Where the Outback Meets the CoastThe Library & Young Peoples Services Officer is responsible for the planning promotion and delivery of engaging inclusive and age-appropriate programs activities and events for children and young people through the Carnarvon Library. Programs will be delivered primarily after school on weekends and during school holiday periods with a focus on supporting positive learning literacy creativity participation and social connection position will build effective relationships with young people families schools community organisations and other stakeholders to support participation and ensure programs respond to local part of the broader Library and Art Gallery Team the position will also support the delivery of day-to-day library services including customer service library operations and activities and contribute to maintaining a welcoming accessible and inclusive service for the Youll DoAs our Library & Young Peoples Services Officer you will:Demonstrate successful leadership through the application of the Shires core values by promoting a work culture of sustainability quality improvement efficiency and excellent customer service that corresponds to our Code of Conduct and Customer Service compliance with the Local Government Act (WA) 1995 and any relevant legislation.A commitment to a safe work environment and WHS legislation policy and operational processes that deliver the corporate customer service standards of high performance including timelines accuracy and consistency through a commitment to continuous improvement.A commitment to fostering a positive team spirit within the Library and the a wide range of library operational duties as required including customer service delivery computer and technology support and collection processing/ promote deliver and evaluate regular library programs/events with an emphasis on children and youth participants such as the Better Beginnings program and STEM activities School Holiday Program Childrens Book Week Scribblers Festival and Sketchbook and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders such as educational organisations child health professionals and other community groups/organisations to develop collaborative and outreach opportunities for service delivery and promote information administrative tasks related to the role including maintaining statistics procurement of goods and services preparing documentation for grant applications/acquittals and preparing promotional other duties as YouYoull bring:Relevant tertiary qualification in Library and Information Studies or Education or Community Services and/or minimum 2 years experience in a similar roleHighly developed ability to uphold a values-based approach in the effective communication skills (written and verbal) including ability to provide quality customer customer service skills and demonstrated experience in a busy customer service -developed organisational and time management computer and administrative skills with the capacity to adapt to new technologies and ability in the planning promotion and delivery of high quality creative and innovative children and youth services programs and to work rostered hours according to operational requirements including some weekend skills with the ability to prioritise competing with our CARECHIP values Courage Authenticity Respect Excellence Cohesion Humility Inclusion Join UsWe value people who are passionate about learning connecting with the community and creating positive experiences for young package includes:Salary: $72700.99p/a plus superannuation district allowance: $2486.20p/a housing allowance $3168.71p/a (if eligible).$3500 retention bonus after 3 years service.*5 weeks annual leave 2 Local Government public and professional development leave travel assistance gym and club membership subsidies and aquatic centre allowances and subsidies under our Attraction & Retention Policy.*A supportive workplace focused on safety wellbeing and community impact.*Subject to corporate to ApplyIf youre ready to help maintain thE financial practices wed love to hear from you.
