Slows Bar BQ opened on a mostly abandoned block in Corktown, Detroit’s oldest neighborhood, in September 2005. Founded by native Detroiter, Chef Perrone and Phillip Cooley, Slows won over fans with a meticulously designed interior paired with a chef-driven spin on barbecue cooked fresh every day, a love of craft beer and a dedication to community. Slows operates three brick and mortar locations including the flagship Corktown location, catering and carryout outpost Slows To Go opened in 2010, and a location inside the Grand Rapids Downtown Market that opened in 2015, as well as an immensely popular food truck.
