<p>I designed and developed a customized Model Context Protocol (MCP) server to enable secure and structured communication between AI models and external systems, tools, and data sources. The main purpose of the server is to extend the capabilities of an AI assistant beyond standard conversational responses by allowing it to interact with specific business applications, databases, APIs, files, and internal services.</p><p>The MCP server was customized based on the requirements of the intended use case. I defined dedicated tools and resources that the AI model can access, while controlling the type of information that can be retrieved or actions that can be performed. This approach provides a standardized interface between the AI model and different systems without requiring the model to understand the technical implementation of each application.</p><p>I also incorporated validation, structured request and response handling, error management, and access controls to improve the reliability and security of the integration. The server can be expanded by adding new tools, APIs, or business functions as requirements evolve.</p><p>Developing the customized MCP server helped create a more flexible and scalable AI architecture where the language model acts as an intelligent interface while the MCP server manages the connection with external resources. This solution can support several use cases, including automated data retrieval, document analysis, reporting, workflow automation, system integration, and AI-assisted business processes.</p>
