Job Description
The Office of the Medical Examiner is looking for a contract statistician/programmer who has 2 years experience working with R. This role will require someone who is familiar with
mortality data and has a solid foundation in statistics to create reproducible reports and other data visualizations. The Statistician/Programmer role will work collaboratively with other programmers informaticists epidemiologists and additional team members throughout the project period.
Primary Duties
Analyze mortality data and develop reproducible reports and data visualizations in R
Take ownership of existing RShiny application and create plan for maintenance and updates
Collaborate with partners and stakeholders
Work independently on multiple projects concurrently
Maintain records of all assigned projects
Provide technical assistance
Other tasks as assigned
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience using R for data analysis and visualization and will be able to interpret and refine legacy R code. The chosen candidate will have experience analyzing mortality data and will demonstrate strong problemsolving skills.
Typical Qualifications
BS in relevant life sciences computer science or statistics/analytical field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing programs in R
Knowledge of statistics and mortality data
Ability to work across multiple projects
Ability to assist with the training of team members
