The craft beer industry originated with small breweries looking to enter the market and differentiate their products with more flavour, quality and diversity than the mass-produced products dominating the market. They achieved this by focusing on the art of brewing, resurrecting traditional beer recipes, sourcing high quality ingredients and combining them with innovative brewing practices and experimentation to deliver bespoke hand crafted beer with genuine product differentiation and a sense of exclusivity not available with mass produced beer. Passion for beer, flavour variety, quality and exclusivity became the hallmark of the craft beer movement. Limestone Coast Brewing have a business that is truly focused on this passion and are seeking a brewer to join them.
The hub of the business is the Brewery in Malaga where your new role will be based. You will get the best of both worlds, working in a small craft brewery where you can influence recipes and bring your ideas, but also working with industry leading tech and automation. The patented computerised technology and innovating brewing practices allows a brewer to focus on his or her craft and spend far less time on the mundane tasks a more manual set up would require from the crew. Onsite they also have a miniature version of the brewhouse with similar automation which really allows your creative juices to flow with experimental batches.
Your role will include;
- Recipe creation, modification and perfection
- Contribution to all continuous improvement and innovation in a team environment
- Brewing, Yeast Handling, Centrifuge/filtration, raw material and chemical handling
- Performing secondary brewing tasks, including milling and grain out
- Cellar and fermentation management; including tank sampling and analysis
- Record keeping
- Forklift operation
- General plant cleaning
- Additional duties to facilitate the brewing operations, as needed
Requirements
Essential
- A serious passion for craft beer evidence that you have an understanding of brewing
- Great Work Ethic
- Open transparent team player (no hero with ego)
- Have long term Australian work rights
Desirable
- Forklift License (or be willing to attain one ASAP)
- Great interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- LR license (small truck) or willingness to obtain
