Job Description
Our client located in Contrecoeur Quebec is looking for a Controller. This is a hybrid full time contract role. CPA is mandatory. Bilingual is mandatory.
The responsibilities:
Under the responsibility of the Director of Industrial Control the Industrial Controller will be responsible for:
Conducting a detailed cost analysis tracking performance and planning a weekly meeting with plant managers to share analyses and recommendations related to the budget highlighting variances and proposing solutions to address them;
Closing the period ensuring that accounting standards and dealing with tight deadlines;
Working collaboratively with the management team preparing monthly presentations to understand and explain plant performances and be able to assess risks and opportunities;
Collaborating with directors to establish annual budgets and monthly forecasts that contribute to achieving the organizationss objectives;
Overseeing physical inventory counts and ensuring the accuracy of inventory quantities and values as well as compliance with accounting standards;
Monitoring and valuing continuous improvement projects and ensuring their proper accounting in the system;
Participating in various profitability analyses at the request of plant managers and the Director of Industrial Control;
Responding to requests from internal and external auditors.
Requirements:
Hold a bachelors degree in administration commerce or management accounting;
Have a minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment with strong technical accounting skills;
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel spreadsheet;
Have a strong openness to new technologies;
Knowledge of management software is an asset; familiarity with SAP software is a plus;
Desired qualities:
Ability to plan and anticipate tasks and responsibilities to meet tight deadlines;
Ability to manage multiple files at once and have a sense of urgency;
Demonstrate communication skills great adaptability and a strong team spirit;
Be able to travel to work in the plant and demonstrate autonomy;
Prioritize health and safety on a daily basis: you are an advocate for good health safety and environmental practices at work;
Have a good command of both French and English.
