- Execute thickness measurements (UT scanning) to determine remaining life and corrosion rates.
- Identify and document locations requiring further NDT or remedial action.
NDT Witnessing & Review
- Witness and verify all Non-Destructive Testing activities including:
- UT (Ultrasonic Testing) thickness shear wave phased array
- RT (Radiographic Testing) film interpretation and digital
- MT (Magnetic Particle Testing) surface and sub-surface defects
- PT (Dye Penetrant Testing) surface-breaking flaws
- Review NDT reports and ensure techniques procedures and personnel certifications meet applicable codes and client specifications.
- Challenge unacceptable NDT results and request re-testing or alternative methods as necessary.
Repair & Welding Oversight
- Review and approve repair procedures weld maps and PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment) plans.
- Inspect weld preparation fit-up and final weld quality.
- Ensure all welding activities comply with ASME Section IX and client approved WPS/PQR.
Fitness-For-Service (FFS) Assessments
- Conduct FFS assessments per API 579-1/ASME FFS-1.
- Evaluate remaining life maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) and retirement thickness.
- Provide recommendations for continued operation repair replacement or derating.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and submit detailed daily inspection reports final turnover packages and punch lists.
- Document all defects anomalies and non-conformances with photographs sketches and measurements.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection findings and recommendations for client handover.

Experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on pressure vessel inspection experience in the oil & gas industry.
- At least 2 shutdown/turnaround campaigns as a vessel inspector.
- Experience with hydrocarbon service vessels (separators scrubbers towers reactors heat exchangers on the shell side).
3.3 Technical Knowledge
- ASME Section VIII Division 1 & 2 design fabrication and inspection requirements.
- API 571 damage mechanisms affecting pressure vessels (HIC SOHIC HTHA creep fatigue etc.).
- API 579 fitness-for-service assessment methodology.
