Duties and Responsibilities
Lead accounting functions for the organizations Project office including the processing and posting of transactions ensuring timely and accurate month-end closing processes.
Prepare reports for project financials (monthly synoptic journals) ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
Conduct and review General Ledger account reconciliations.
Perform financial analysis resolve financial discrepancies and conduct financial reviews as needed.
Follow internal financial controls and recommend to the supervisor continuous improvements of financial policies procedures and systems (Standard Operating Procedures)
Support on-going process improvement initiatives including the development and implementation of automated tools dashboards templates and reporting systems.
Maintain financial systems and files for the organization project office.
Support the project teams in the review of budgets to support annual work planning and activity planning.
In coordination with Country Manager prepare monthly cash advance projections monitor and update cash flow projections for organizations project office in Tanzania.
Work closely with organizations Finance division at headquarters to process financial reports and invoices from partners and consultants.
Process monthly salary payments corresponding benefits and statutory deductions for local staff.
Record project financial transactions in the synoptic journal allocating to the respective general ledger accounts.
Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions with all supporting documentation and approvals.
Ensure adherence to organizations Finance and Procurement policies and donor rules and regulations.
Ensure monthly and annual tax and financial regulatory obligations for the organizations project Tanzania office are met.
Provide detailed financial reports as required/requested by the organization and the funder.
Alert Country Manager to any emerging financial issues.
Respond to requests from the organizations Finance division at headquarters.
Respond to enquiries from external agencies.
Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
