We are seeking a talented and innovative Sous Chef specializing in Asian cuisine to join our culinary team in Cairo Egypt. As a key member of our kitchen leadership you will work closely with the Executive Sous Chef to create exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
- Collaborate with the Executive Sous Chef to lead and inspire the culinary team ensuring the highest quality and consistency in Asian cuisine
- Develop and maintain active menus based on sales mix demands special promotions and product availability
- Participate in strategic planning and ongoing development of the hotel including revenue forecasting and environmental commitments
- Oversee and maintain food safety protocols including HACCP guidelines ensuring compliance among all team members
- Implement and manage food waste reduction programs to promote sustainability and cost-efficiency
- Contribute to menu engineering and pricing strategies to maintain financial performance indicators in line with the budget
- Train and mentor kitchen staff fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Ensure the efficient operation of the kitchen including inventory management and equipment maintenance
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall guest satisfaction and achieve organizational goals
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven leadership experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel operation
- Expertise in Asian cuisine with advanced culinary skills and knowledge of other cuisines (e.g. Mediterranean and Arabic)
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in menu planning development and engineering
- Strong knowledge and practice of food safety protocols and HACCP guidelines
- Experience in implementing and managing food waste reduction programs
- Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to set and meet deadlines while delivering quality results
- Strong team leadership and mentoring abilities
- Creativity in dish presentation and flavor combinations
- Proficiency in kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced high-pressure environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and customer needs
- Passion for culinary innovation and staying current with industry trends
