As a Clinical Applications Specialist based in Jeddah supporting hospitals & clinics in the Middle East you will be trusted to work on training healthcare professionals and ensuring the safe and effective use of Alcon products at customer sites across the region.
In this role a typical day will include:
- Provide technical and clinical training education and continuous on-site or remote support to surgeons and OR staff on the approved use of Alcons Cataract and Refractive Surgical Device products
- Respond to customer inquiries by delivering accurate scientific and technical information related to the approved use of Alcon devices; refer any questions regarding unapproved use as per protocol
- Ensure successful implementation of equipment and software upgrades at clinical sites and support new installations and troubleshooting in collaboration with Field Service Engineers
- Document each site visit clearly and accurately using standardized reporting tools; report all adverse events and device deficiencies to Medical Safety in accordance with company procedures
- Collaborate with Clinical Applications management and Medical Safety for root cause analysis of adverse events and to provide physician feedback when requested; respond to unsolicited device-related information requests per SOPs and compliance guidelines
- Participate in medical congresses fellowships conferences exhibits seminars and wet-labs as assigned; assist with product demonstrations at conventions and maintain required clinical certifications to fulfill responsibilities
WHAT YOULL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelors degree required; advanced education in a healthcare-related field is an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a clinical or medical device setting
- Full professional proficiency in both English and Arabic including written and verbal communication
- Solid clinical background in ophthalmology with a demonstrated eagerness to continuously learn and develop
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive and positive approach to challenges and collaboration
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed for training and support
