This is an exciting opportunity to join the expanding
This role is a leadership / clinical practice role encompassing patient care teaching and consultation. Specifically plans and participates in nurses orientation; plans implements coordinates continuing education and inservice programs based on needs assessment and PI data; serves as educational consultant for curriculum / program development; promotes and participates in research activities and studies.
This 32 hour Clinical Educator role is on a busy 42bed surgical unit with telemetry capability. Postoperative patients on this unit are recovering from diagnostic procedures general thoracic or vascular surgery. Housed within this surgical unit is a Surgical Special Care Unit (SSCU) with the purpose to provide acute specialized nursing care for the postop patient requiring frequent nursing assessments and monitoring for hemodynamic instability. Typical patients admitted to the SSCU include those recuperating from carotid endarterectomy major abdominal surgeries thoracic or vascular reconstruction
Masters degree in Nursing required. Will consider candidates currently matriculatedPrevious SICU or other critical care experience preferred
Specialty certification such as AACN CCRN or CMSRN certification preferred Current MA RN license require Prior teaching experience preferred Fluent in Process Improvement
