- Promotion is one element of a company’s overall marketing program. Marketing and promotions managers work closely with other members of the marketing team to determine the role of promotions in the company’s overall strategy. The team may decide to use promotions to encourage retailers to increase stocks during an advertising campaign, or to encourage consumers to try a new product.
