We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Chief Steward to join our team in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. As the backbone of our kitchen operations you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness hygiene and operational efficiency in our food service areas.
- Oversee all stewarding operations ensuring a clean organized and efficient backofhouse environment
- Implement and maintain strict adherence to local health and safety regulations including HACCP compliance
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies equipment and utensils ensuring optimal stock levels at all times
- Coordinate closely with kitchen and F&B teams to provide clean dry equipment as needed
- Supervise and train stewarding staff fostering a positive and motivational work environment
- Control costs and manage payroll efficiently to optimize department performance
- Conduct regular inspections of all food service areas to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Hygiene Manager to implement and improve cleaning procedures
- Handle guest and employee inquiries professionally and courteously
- Lead by example during peak periods assisting the team handson when necessary
- Oversee night cleaning operations to ensure all areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness
- Implement strategies to minimize breakages and reduce losses
- Stay updated on the latest cleaning technologies and ecofriendly practices in the industry
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a Chief Steward or in a similar role in a highvolume food service environment
- Indepth knowledge of health and safety regulations including HACCP principles
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in inventory management and cost control
- Strong problemsolving abilities and decisionmaking skills
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
- Detailoriented with a keen eye for cleanliness and organization
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of a fastpaced kitchen environment
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
- Professionalism and integrity with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Team player mentality with a positive and approachable attitude
- Knowledge of kitchen operations and food service standards
- Familiarity with modern cleaning equipment and sanitation procedures
