Job Description

Job Purpose

The Senior Manager/Head of FRM plays a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the credit initiation approval and documentation administration processes within the organization. By evaluating credit risks ensuring policy adherence and providing critical insights to senior management the incumbent contributes to the overall financial health and risk management strategies of the company.

Role & Responsibilities

Policy Maintenance and Approval:

  • Defining parameters and devising reporting formats for improving credit initiation approval and documentation administration processes.

Periodic FRM Reviews:

  • Following core activities for corporate clients selected through specific criteria and portfolios to comply with regulatory requirements and guidelines.

Evaluation of Credit Approval Process:

  • Assessing the robustness of the credit approval process.

Review of Credit Risk Assessment:

  • Examining the credit risk assessment process.

Providing Senior Management Information:

  • Reporting on credit process including sanctioning risk evaluation credit concentrations documentation disbursement and postdisbursement monitoring.

Identifying and Recommending Corrective Actions:

  • Identifying credit weaknesses in financed exposures and recommending appropriate corrective actions.

Evaluating Portfolio Quality:

  • Assessing portfolio quality and identifying potential problem areas.

Finance Loss Provision:

  • Providing inputs for determining the adequacy of finance loss provision.

Assessment of Policy Adherence:

  • Assessing adherence to finance policies and procedures and monitoring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Account Monitoring and Watchlist Placement:

  • Recommending placing accounts under watchlist or reclassifying based on credit behavior.

Audit Compliance:

  • Aiming for a Satisfactory rating from the Internal Audit department and managing unresolved observations raised by external auditors within audits.

Level of Interaction

  • Maintain and enhance working relationship with Sharia and Compliance department in particular and with other stakeholders in general.

Relevant Experience in Years
10 Years

Required Qualification

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor Degree in Banking and Finance or
  • MBA or relevant Degree in Banking Sector

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years in the banking sector out of which 3 years must be in Islamic Banking

Special Certification

Any Other Relevant Information

  • Sound credit appraisal knowledge

  • Strong presentation skills with oral and written communication.
