Junior Site Reliability (DevOps)

Our client is a software house and they are looking to hire A Junior Site Reliability who will be the second pair of hands on the SRE function an apprenticeship designed to grow into Senior SRE in 23 years. They execute installations and deployments under Senior SRE supervision run health-check visits monitor the running stack and take their share of on-call rotation. The Senior SRE shapes the runbooks; the Junior contributes real work and earns autonomy over time.

What You Own:

• Execute installations under Senior SRE direction: Linux/Windows provisioning database installation Docker/K8s setup application deployment.
  
• Apply releases and updates from runbooks. Flag when runbooks are incomplete.
  
• Daily monitoring: APM dashboards alert volumes investigate non-resolving alerts.
  
• Scheduled health-check visits at client sites (initially paired then independent).
  
• On-call rotation share (after 90-day onboarding). Triage basic diagnostics clean escalation to Senior.
  
• Client communication during routine incidents (Arabic and English).
  
• Contribute to runbooks after every incident or installation.

Requirements

What You Bring:

• 13 years in IT operations infrastructure junior DevOps or production support.
  
• Linux fundamentals: terminal comfort package management log analysis networking basics.
  
• Docker basics: build run debug containers. Compose for local environments.
  
• Kubernetes basics: kubectl pods/deployments/services/namespaces. Can read pod logs/events.
  
• At least one database (SQL Server PostgreSQL MongoDB or Redis) in production or lab.
  
• Basic scripting: Bash and/or Python.
  
• Some cloud exposure (AWS or Azure) even at lab scale.
  
• ArabicEnglish bilingual at professional level (verified mid-call).
  
• Acceptance of on-call dimension. Non-negotiable.
  

• CS/IT/Engineering degree from a strong Egyptian university (AUC GUC BUE Cairo Ain Shams).
  
• Internship at a software services company (Asset LinkDev ITWorx Raya) on infra/DevOps side.
  
• Personal lab/home-lab projects (K8s at home Postgres in Docker Grafana).
  
• AI tool exposure (ChatGPT/Claude for scripting).
  
• Egyptian government deployment exposure.
