Linux Administrator

Job Description

• Linux Server Delivery (redhat7,8)
• Build and configure Veritas cluster system
• Platform Stand up – Software installation
• Change implementation – system upgrades, RMA, automation (scripting)
• Problem Management – Identify service impacting trends and work with the development teams to implement long term solutions.
• Ability to work during non-working hours if required
• On an on-call basis.
• Support and investigate hardware and physical servers’ issues.
• Apply Patches on Linux server
• Job Duties & tasks include, but not limited to:
• System administration of Linux
• Provide 2nd level support of Linux for supported services (optional)
• Resolve problems and issues occurred on the Linux servers within the times specified in the SLA
• Work through problems and issues to obtain root cause analysis
• Support planning and install of new operating system releases to maintain software currency.
• Plan and install upgrades/new software, including some local customization.
• Support planning and installation of system software patches to fix identified problems.
• Manage system & software configurations (via change control)
• Manage clusters.

Job Requirements

• Good communication skills
• Bachelor degree from a reputable university (Communications engineering or computer science background is preferred).
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Deep experience in administration of Linux
• Good Knowledge in Windows administration
• Familiarity with various Linux operating systems and platforms
• Good Knowledge in database administration of Oracle
• Good Knowledge in Apache and IBM HTTP Server
• Good Knowledge in SSL and certifications issues
• Knowledge of the creation of Linux packaging: rpm/deb
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
• Fluent English is a must
