The Role

AS&H Clifford Chance is one of Saudi Arabias leading law firms helping clients achieve their goals by combining the highest global standards with local expertise.  The firm has unrivalled scale and depth of legal resources across the KSA and focuses on the core areas of commercial activity: capital markets; corporate and M&A; finance and banking; real estate; public policy and regulatory; litigation and dispute resolution. 

The individual in this role will be responsible for the management of outstanding debtors and communications with regards to credit control. The Credit Control team currently consists of a Revenue Manager and a working Capital Assistant. The team works very closely with the clients Partners lawyers and the billing team to ensure timely collections of the firms invoices.

Key Responsibilities

You will meet with partners and other lawyers on a regular basis to discuss collection issues.

You will liaise directly with clients and develop relationships with stakeholders in key client organisations to facilitate the collection process.

You will manage outstanding debtors (international and national contacts) by:

  • Contact debtors by telephone or by mail;
  • Pro-actively follow-up outstanding invoices;
  • Register follow up and maintain disputed claim records;
  • Maintain contacts with clients partners and billing team;
  • Report and advice manager and partners on the status of activities and continuation of the collection route;
  • Consultation with partners about debtors.
  • Creating cash-flow forecasts;
  • Manage suspense accounts;
  • Ensure that on matters where we may not get paid the position is understood and adequate provisioning is made to reflect final best estimate debt recovery position.

You will look for opportunities to improve collection processes and implement best practice.

You will have responsibility for understanding the receipting of funds in a timely and accurate manner to ensure our debt ledgers reflect the correct balances.

You will manage the cash receipt reconciliation for unidentified payment and work with the Working Capital team to resolve unapplied cash.

You will be expected to work closely with our network with respect to the activities that they perform on our behalf currently also to identify suitable tasks that can be improved or transition in the future.

You will also support any of the Billing Team members being away or during busy billing peaks.


Qualifications :

Your Experience

Skills & Experience

  • You will be a highly motivated and proactive self-starter accustomed to working in a very busy environment.
  • You will be a graduate and have a minimum of five years working capital experience ideally in a legal or other professional services environment.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders and senior staff within client organisations
  • You will have dealt with full life cycle of working capital management ideally be conversant with KSA tax and Anti- Money Laundering regulations.
  • You will also have proven experience of working to and achieving deadlines.
  • You will ideally have a good knowledge of financial software. Good working skills in Excel is imperative.
