Inspection Oversight
- Verify that ship side inspections are performed accurately and thoroughly.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations safety protocols and company policies.
- Conduct audits of inspection reports and verify documentation accuracy.
Regulatory Compliance
- Keep updated on relevant maritime laws environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Ensure adherence to IMO (International Maritime Organization) guidelines SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) MARPOL (Marine Pollution) API (American Petroleum Institute) EI (Energy Institute) TIC (Testing Inspection and Certification) Council and other applicable regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and classification societies as needed.
Quality Assurance & Risk Management
- Identify discrepancies or noncompliance issues in ship side inspections.
- Recommend corrective actions and improvements to inspection procedures.
- Develop and implement compliance monitoring programs to mitigate risks.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain detailed records of inspections compliance audits and corrective actions.
- Prepare reports for management on compliance status and findings.
- Ensure proper documentation is submitted to relevant authorities when required.
Investigation & Incident Management
- Conduct root cause analysis for inspection failures or noncompliance incidents.
- Assist in incident reporting and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with **internal and external stakeholders** to resolve compliancerelated disputes.
Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization
- Develop and implement best practices for ship side inspections.
- Identify areas for efficiency improvements in inspection procedures.
- Work with operational teams to enhance inspection accuracy and effectiveness.
Technology & Digital Compliance
- Utilize inspection software and digital reporting tools to streamline compliance tracking.
- Ensure proper documentation and data integrity in electronic compliance systems.
- Keep updated on new technologies that enhance inspection accuracy and regulatory adherence.
Work Environment
- Will require onsite visits to ships and shore side for inspection verification.
- Frequent travel to ports terminals and maritime facilities.
- Working at Heights is mandatory.
- Attending offshore operations is mandatory.
- Hybrid role with a mix of officebased compliance work and field inspections.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Maritime Studies Marine Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 35 years of experience in compliance ship inspections or regulatory enforcement
- Strong knowledge of API MPMS ISGOTT EI and other regulations
- Experience in shipboard operations is essential
- Excellent attention to detail analytical skills and problemsolving abilities
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with inspection teams
