Job Summary
- Support agricultural risk surveys field assessments and loss diagnostics alongside the Agronomist.
- Gather analyse and document information on crops farming practices production conditions and agricultural risk factors.
- Translate agricultural observations and field findings into structured risk information to support underwriting decisions.
- Assist with underwriting information risk grading supporting documentation and preparation of underwriting-ready field reports.
- Support registration documentation and follow-up of agricultural claims including analysis of loss patterns and risk mitigation opportunities.
- Research developments in Zimbabwean agriculture including crops farming practices production trends and emerging risks and provide insights for product development.
- Maintain accurate agricultural risk survey claims and portfolio information and assist with reports dashboards and management information.
- Support engagement with farmers distribution partners and other stakeholders and participate in relevant agricultural training and client initiatives.
- Build practical knowledge of insurance principles underwriting claims reinsurance and agricultural insurance products through structured on-the-job learning.
- A Bachelors degree in Agriculture from a recognised university.
- Preferred disciplines include Agronomy Crop Science Horticulture Animal Science Agricultural Economics Agribusiness or another relevant agricultural field.
- Strong interest in the Zimbabwean agricultural sector and genuine curiosity about the intersection between agriculture and insurance.
- Strong analytical research report-writing and information-interpretation skills.
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work accurately with technical information and data.
- Ability and willingness to work in the field and travel when required.
- Strong learning agility initiative teamwork and willingness to receive coaching and feedback.
- A clean Class 4 Drivers Licence is an added advantage.
- No prior insurance experience is required; structured on-the-job training will be provided.
Required Skills:
Responsibilities: Supervise and lead a team of production workers including training scheduling and performance management. Provide guidance and support to ensure production targets and quality standards are met. Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet deadlines and optimize workflow. Ensure that machinery and equipment are operating correctly and safely. Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency. Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and resolve production issues. Maintain accurate production records including output downtime and quality reports. Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance and issues to management. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the supply chain to ensure timely availability of materials. Manage stock control and ensure that production materials are used efficiently. Requirements: Bachelors degree in industrial engineering manufacturing business management or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
