Job Summary
- Oversee the management maintenance and optimisation of the companys funds housed under umbrella listed equities fixed income and a wide alternative investment asset base (including but not limited to real estate agriculture mining hospitality infrastructure)
- Manage and monitor assigned portfolio companies ensuring alignment with the firms investment strategy and financial objectives. Monitor and report on portfolio company performance. Identify performance gaps operational inefficiencies and areas for value creation.
- Identify develop and implement strategic opportunities for portfolio companies. Overseeing possible restructuring cost optimization and operational improvements. Work closely with executive management to execute strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal functional groups and external stakeholders to evaluate performance and propose interventions. Build relationships with key stakeholders including senior management board members brokers and bankers to align on objectives and execution plans.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and operational assessments to drive decision-making.
- Lead initiatives such as revenue growth market repositioning divestitures joint ventures or M&A activities across all investee projects and assets. Monitor and measure the impact of company directives and adjust strategies as needed.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas while ensuring the adequacy adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations concerning operational risk regulatory compliance risk AML/ATF risk and conduct risk including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
- Mentor relate with and guide management teams within portfolio companies to build sustainable operational capabilities. Provide thought leadership on industry trends best practices and turnaround methodologies.
- Generating investment policy statements outlining our clients investment objectives.
- Constructing successful investment portfolios informed by market conditions and economic trends.
- Buying and selling securities in client accounts to maintain a specific investment strategy or to reach an investment objective.
- Determining acceptable client risk levels based on time frames risk preferences return expectations and market conditions.
- Maintaining new and existing client relationships including informing clients of market conditions updating them on investment research and economic trends and meeting with them to discuss their portfolio performance and objectives.
- Evaluating the performance of investment portfolios and ensuring compliance with standards provided by regulatory organizations including conformance with investor disclosures privacy laws anti-money laundering requirements and anti-fraud measures.
- Staying up to date with relevant investment and trading news and economic trends.
Requirements
- A bachelors degree in finance Banking Economics Actuarial Science or Financial Engineering from a reputable university. A masters degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years professional experience in fund management private equity and or investment banking or corporate turnarounds with at least 5 years working with traditional and alternative portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of financial modelling operational restructuring and strategic management
- Professional certifications (e.g. CFA CAIA CIPM CA) are a plus. Detailed understanding of both the Zimbabwean and international capital markets.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
- Experience as a buy-side trader with core experience using various Portfolio Management systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook and Access).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills plus highly organized and detail oriented.
Required Skills:
Qualification: MBA/PGDM from reputed B-school. Experience: 20 years in corporate sales institutional leasing or real estate investment. Requirements: Proven success in closing large deals and strong industry networks. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
